Update: June 3, 2019

Congratulations to the Class of 2019!

Habitat for Humanity Walk

On May 17th, students at GMS 4-5 walked to show their support for Habitat for Humanity. This walk tied into their guidance curriculum and the students also fundraised for the organization, raising $7,475.37.

Outdoor Classroom Week

May 20-24, MSAD #51 held a district-wide Outdoor Classroom Week. It was fun to see how teachers incorporated being outdoors into their lessons for the week. From kindergarten's "find 10 sticks and put them in order from shortest to tallest" to the high school's foundations of science class "tension lesson"

Visit to the State House

Mrs. Kearins' 3rd class got a fun surprise yesterday while visiting the ME state museum. They had the opportunity to meet Gov. Mills and sit in her cabinet room and ask some questions: it was a memorable day for all!

Tree Planting

Thank you to Anderson Landscaping for donating 3 Dogwood Trees, which were planted behind the GCA in honor of Maine’s Arbor Day. The Environmental Stewardship Committee partnered with each school's green team to plant the trees!

Peabody Essex Museum

Enjoyed my field trip with GMS 7th grade Team Osprey students to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem MA as part of their study of Asia.

Scatter Good Farm Volunteers

34 representatives from GMS 6-8 the Outing Club, Civil Rights Team, Student Council, and the Green Team, volunteered at Scatter Good Farm today in Brunswick.  Scatter Good is a volunteer-based farm that grows organic fruits and vegetables, and donates it all to food banks and pantries. The students spent their time on the farm weeding, planting seeds, and filling sandbags.
