GMS 6-8 Unified Basketball Game A GMS Unified Basketball game last Friday afternoon was a big hit, drawing a large audience with an enthusiastic student section cheering the student athletes on! Did Someone Say Pie? Teachers at GMS 6-8 helped students raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation by taking a pie in the face last week on March 14 (hint: 3.14). Pi(e) Day! Below, Teachers Heather Daigle, Shannon Montgomery, and Ben Caswell step up to the plate. And Doug Pride's math students actually made the pie at GHS. Congratulations Go To... GHS Alpine Ski Team for a great season! Highlights included a 2nd place finish in the GS and 4th in slalom by Ruth Weeks at the Western Maine Conference Championships and a 5th place finish in the GS and 4th in the slalom at the Maine State Championships. Honoring MLK The GHS Civil Rights Team celebrated Black History Month in February by starting a mural of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This is the first of several installments to this mural and has already shaped up to be a great addition to the high school.                                                          Greely Debate Greely Debate won four of the top six places in Congressional Debate and won the State Championship with 34 points, defeating Yarmouth with 21 points and Kennebunk with 10 points. Of the four qualifying spots Maine receives for the NCFL Finals in May in Washington DC, Greely won three. Meredith Brubaker, Mia Netland, and Ruth Weeks will all be going to the National Final.
