MSAD #51 Superintendent's Blog

Thank you I am grateful to the MSAD #51 community for its continued support of the district budget and the 2,000 students who benefit directly from this support. Schools are the backbone of our community and the community is the backbone of our schools. Neither can be successful without the other. Thank you to our community for funding a high quality educational system for its youngest citizens. Employee of the Year Last year, the district implemented a new employee recognition program where any MSAD #51 employee could nominate another MSAD #51 employee. In its second year, 49 nominations were received. MIW students cheer on senior class Congrats to all of the 151 members of the Greely High School Class of 2017! Graduation festivities took place beginning on June 1 with Class Day, followed by the 2nd annual "Senior Walk" through all schools, Candlelight services on Friday evening, and then Graduation on Sunday, June 4.  Following the graduation program, students took part in Project Graduation after a parade through Cumberland and North Yarmouth.  Best wishes Class of 2017!       Parade route for Class of 2017 passes through North Yarmouth on June 4 Business Roundtable The first-ever Business Roundtable was held on May 25 with 30 business representatives, administrators, teachers, and students to discuss the Strategic Plan's goal around STEM education.  The focus was on finding out what employers want in prospective employees and what we can do in schools to best prepare students for their future.  Many thanks to our participating busin...
