Greely Goes GREEN Mid-Summer Update
Even though school's out for the summer, plans continue for the opening of school on September 1. In line with the SAD's commitment to smaller class sizes for the 2021-22 school year, additional modular classrooms have begun arriving on campus. A total of 11 modular rooms will be added to MIW and GMS over the summer in time for students to arrive for their first day. Additionally, the entire campus is being thoroughly cleaned and small maintenance repairs are being completed, with some examples pictured below. Also pictured below is the arrival of more modular classrooms at MIW. On a related note, all 10 additional teacher positions have been filled in the district in order to create smaller classes for the 21-22 year.
No changes have been made to the Greely Goes GREEN Plan sent out on June 14. Please refer to this
LINK for a complete overview and linked Re-Opening Plan for Fall 2021. We look forward to a more typical start to the 2021-22 school year.
The Board's Communications Committee is working on a Greely Goes GREEN FAQ sheet that will be sent out to families in mid-August to help answer some of your most pressing questions about the start of school.

MLTI Update
The state has continued its long-standing commitment to Maine middle schools for the replacement of Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) devices, a program started under former Gov. Angus King. With aging devices in 7th and 8th grades, the state's continuation of MLTI has been welcome news. This summer, 329 CTL Student Chromebooks will be provided free of charge to SAD 51 for use at the middle level (grades 6-8). The district also opted to purchase an additional 73 Chromebooks for use by students and staff at the state's discounted rate.Meet Your Board Members at the Farmer's Market
