Greely 4-5 Donates to Habitat for Humanity

Greely Middle School 4-5 raised funds through their Habitat for Humanity walk the end of March. Last week, they donated more than $6,500 to Habitat for Humanity. Amazing job to all involved.

GHS 2nd annual freshmen class trip for some college and career readiness exploration. This year was to the University of New England!

2nd annual UMO Junior Transcript Review Day had 29 prospective students who met with UMO admissions rep to review their current transcript, test scores, senior year classes, interested UMO major and even learned what they could be eligible for with scholarship/ merit money.

On April 23, 16 students traveled to Maine Maritime Academy (MMA)to participate in the Discovery Voyage program, which was an opportunity for Greely students to be on the MMA campus and see first-hand the kinds of programs the school offers. While Greely students visited MMA they were engaged with hands-on activities and given a chance to get on the water aboard one of our vessels, The Captain Clark. The itinerary  was designed to incorporate several different aspects of campus while allowing Greely students to see what life on a college campus is like.

Congratulations are in Order!

  • Gregory Pershing was selected as one of 630 semifinalists to advance to the final round of the 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholars competition. 
  • Congratulations to seventh graders Lauren Dennen and Cassidy Dean. Each are winners of Maine Municipal Association's "If I Led My Community" essay contest 
  • Congratulations to 2nd Grader, Clementine Benham, whose artwork has been selected as the official elementary school winner for the 2018 Civil Rights Team Project Visual Arts Contest. Clementine's artwork will be shown at the Civil Rights Team statewide conference event for middle level and high school civil rights teams on May 18.

Congratulations to all 21 Greely Special Olympians on an outstanding job at the Cumberland County Track and Field meet at Bonny Eagle High School on April 27th. It was a day full of smiles, and great fun.



  • 23 outstanding Greely musicians represented our schools in the District II Honors Jazz Festival on April 26. These students all submitted auditions earlier in the year and competed against 15 other schools to earn their spot at the honors festival. The performance was outstanding. Congratulations to these outstanding musicians: Claire Mulligan, Samara Tan, Cameron Anderson, Sara Carlson, Sophia Johnson, Nicholas Theodore, Matthew Gilbert, Eyezaya McFetridge, Sylvia Harvey, Christina Gove, Tim Lester, Peter Theodores, Caleb Thurston, Tim Ostergaard, Chris Theodores, Aaron Howell, Lars Boddie, Camden Bubblo, Cole More, Hannah Perfetti, Gregory Pershing, Ethan Adshead, and Edmund Paquin. 
PATHS Highlights 
Congratulations to Colline Kopacz who was named at PATHS Student of the Quarter for Early Childhood. Her nomination stated: Colline is a model of dedication and hard work. She is always looking out for others and has been volunteering in a multiage classroom for the past 3 years.

Congratulations to Nicholas Tarbox for being selected as PATHS Student of the Quarter for New Media. His nomination states: Nicholas has passion and an incredible drive to be a success in the film industry and his dedication to the craft of filmmaking is impressive.
Congratulations to Jillian Brown and Kasey Newman who competed in the SkillsUSA Maine Competition in the Health Knowledge Bowl and placed with a silver medal.

Here Comes the Judge
Garrett Goldsmith's 5th grade social studies students had the unique opportunity to learn about government from Chief US Bankruptcy Judge Peter Cary and Trial Attorney Jennifer Pincus.


Going Back in Time
Sheila Mayberry's 4th grade class made replicas of Jamestown Settlement's houses as part of their study of the Jamestown Colony.
